What i would bring and why
May 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment
If my house was on fire I would bring my cell phone and my changer because that’s how I talk to my friends and I would be lost without them.My camera because I am always taking pictures of my family and friends.I would also bring all my flip flops just because I love my shoes I am always wearing them even in the dead of winter.I would also make sure that my little sisters got out OK because I wouldn’t know what to do if they weren’t there. My green blanket I have had that thing forever, I sleep with it every nite if I am at home. The last thing that I would bring would have to be my favorite hoodie that my friend gave to me I love that hoodie and I don’t get to see him anymore because he move down to Tennessee.

Pepon Osorio

Pepon Osorio was born in Puerto Rico, in 1955. He is know for his large installations, he make them of what is most important to poeple. They are also influenced by his experience as a social worker and his neighbors. The pices of work that i like the most is “Badge of Honor” this one has a jail cell with a man face on the side wall and there is a secdon picture of the “son” room filled with pictures all over the wall.He came up with the idea when he was haveing a conversation with a group of young kids in the Newark area. When he brought up the talk of poeple being in jail the group got quite, thats when he knew he had to do this.To keep the Latino heart they exhibite it in predominantly Latino section of the city.
The story behide these two pictures are real its a father and son who cant be togather because the farther is in prison.I think that them two pictures are amazing, i love how you see this jail cell with nobody in there but you can tell someone ben in there. Then when you look to your left you see this guy face, and he looks so sonfused and dispointed in himsrlf.i like how you dose his work, he ask him and about the issue that he wants to cover and he takes it from there.
In the other picture of the sons room, there is like wall to wall pictures of family and of poeple whom he amiers. And again when you look to the right you see the son, just like when you look to the left on the other one you see the father.I think its really cool because if you think about you its like they are looking at each other. All the lights are refaclfing off of the ground, them two pictures are amazing. All of his work have meaning to them. And these two have the most meaning i think.
